Temporarily absent

Hi all,

I know, I know, I havn't been posting up anything new for awhile...thing is I've been slightly pre-occupied, and a lot had been going on. Anyway, I'm back, and I'm working again! I'm going back to my roots of passion-comic, and am currently working on a couple of stories. It's a long term process, so it'll be awhile before I can put up anything solid. However, don't leave me yet, I'm still here! Hopefully, I'll be able to show you samples of my comic by the end of the year. Until then~!

Best,
Grams

Latest Works

Hello,

I was invited by my friend Jun Eun Lee (http://jungeunart.com/) to join an exhibition held at the Palisades Park Media Center library. The reception was held on Thursday July 16th, and I thank all the people that came to see our show. I think it's a small foot prints we've all made in the industy, but at least we've all made one. Hopefully, I'll have the chance to do something like this again.

Special Thanks to

Steve Cavallo, and Stephen Andolino

I'm going logo

July 15th, 2009

I created this logo for a friend of mine. She came upwith a pretty soild idea on how she'd like her logo to be, though having said that, the final result was far from what the first sketch looks like. Bottom line I like it, she loves it, everybody is happy.

Fairy and bunnies

Hey all,

I found this contest on Tokyopop. It's a Pocky contest where you have to create an image or a 1-3 panels comic including any Pocky images in it. I brainstormed a lot on how I'd want the image to look like. The finished was actually from a very last minute decision. I didn't even make a tight sketch of it, I just add bits and parts from different sketches and put them together. So here it is, may the best man (or woman) wins~!

sketches:

This one is hard to see, but it's a child fairy feeding pocky to a giant bunny...
Then I created this fairy which I decided to used on the finished piece

And of course you'll see it on my web site soon. Happy 4th of July all.

Post....

Hey all,

This is the latest image I've just finished. It's called "Touched" ,and it was entered to the onangelmagazine art contest. The results will be announce 28 days from now, and I really hope I get something out of it. I wanted to draw an image of a girl with deers, and the theme of the contest just fits well with this piece. It sure is one of the hardest image I ever had to do, it's mostly just in my head though....I still have to fix and update my website, on top of redoing one of my previous images, a comic, and I also have a new image in my head that I want to do....don't leave me just yet, I'll still be around.

Here is the process of making "Touched"

Renaissance

April 28, 2009

I stumbled upon this movie on IFC channel last night. I've never seen an animation done this way before, thus I was fascinated. The artwork is tight..and the lighting is uncanny. Think about it, they only use flat black and white to create space and shapes..man, it's great. Anyway, since I just finished doing an ink image, and realizing how hard it is..I just have a new found respect for those who chose to do their thing is black and white. The story line is kind of cliche, but just for the art work, it's worth watching it.

Self Drowning

April 22, 2009

Hey all,

I have this image in my head and I thought I'd really like to do, hence "Self-Drowning". I just finished it last night...and is quite satisfy with it. It's a personal project, so I had a great time making it. I was going to post it up on my web site today, but I gotta run out. You'll see the bigger version on my web site by the end of this week.

Thanks for reading.

Let the Right One In

April 22, 2009

Hi,

I saw this movie last night, and OMG, it's awesome! I love the story, love the actors, love everything about it! The movie is called "Let the Right One In", it's a Swedish movie, and I remember Tomer H. suggested it to me back when I was doing "Twilight" project. It's a story about a young boy and a (not so) young girl/vampire. It's definitely not a "Twilight" kind of vampire movie, but still great (better, even) notheless. I sooo recommend you to see it. Warning: it's a horror genre and it's rated R (I don't think it's that bloody though).

Dancer's Foot

April 16, 2009

Hi all,

This is the latest project that I just finished. It's based upon the theme "The End", I came up with this image because I want to draw a picture of dancers. I know I want to do a picture of the dancer with an injured foot. However, to draw a dancer with a broken foot would probably be a very boring image to do ,and I don't want to do it with the bone distorted or sticking out either. After some more sketches, I finally came up with this solution...which I'm pretty happy with it. You'll see the final up on my site hopefully by this weekend. Hope you'll like it too.

Here is the final drawing of "Dancer's Foot":

Peace out, thanks for reading.

My web site is up!!

April 4, 2009

Hey all,
After much tears and blood and sweats, I managed to put my web site up. Although it's still crappy and still need a lot more polishing, I glad I have some kind of work up on line. The finished piece of "What lies Beaneath" is the first image features in the gallery. I'd be very happy if you'll check it out. Peace out! http://www.gramyart.com/ (here it is!)

Here is my current project which I'm working on at this very moment. It's for an article called "hot of the pressed". This is the approved sketch, and lucky for me, it's my favorite one. I'm 90 % done with the final piece, though I'm still unhappy on how the color turned out, so I'm going to tweak it in photoshop. You'll def. see it on my site once it's finished.

T.G.I.F.

March 27,2009
I was all excited today because my "what lies beneath" final piece is finally done. However, when I got home, I found out that the file which I saved the scan of the piece is corrupted, thus I was unable to upload and show it to you at this time. Hopefully, I'll get it up by next week!

Anyway, on this blog I'd like to suggest this really good movie for you to see. It's a Japanese flim which had just won the Oscar for best foreign picture eariler this year. Yes, it's "Okuribito" or "Departures". Though, it's a drama, the movie has its comedies that can make you laugh out loud ,and Masahiro Motoki (who played Daigo) and Ryoko Hirosue (Mika) gave a really wholesome and cute performance as a young married couple (especially the scene where Daigo has a nervous break down is incredibly romantic and sexy). I've always been a fan of Asian cinema, their slow story telling and unsaid conversations between characters are just some of the elements I find so charming about them. Anyhoo, if you're a fan of (good)movies, see it.

What Lies Beneath

Mar. 19, 2009

Okay, so I figured I'd better start off my blog with what I am working on. I have to make an image based on a pharse "what lies beneath". After much tears and sweats, I came up with this sketch..which isn't my first choice, but I'll be happy to do it anyway.
